Abstract
Modern sociology should adequately reflect new challenges facing social sciences. Sociology can no longer operate with binary categories and oppose different scientific approaches and levels of knowledge. It must combine local and global, contextuality and universality. Rejecting the dichotomy of the global and local will help find answers to new risks.
