Abstract

The article discusses some of the causes and characteristics of the demographic crisis in modern Japan. The analysis of trends characterizing the critical state of the current socio-demographic situation of the country has been carried out. The trends and compensating role of immigration in compensating for the demographic crisis in Japan are revealed. The outlook for the development of Japanese society in the socio-economic and demographic spheres, as well as the relationship between them. The role of labor migration in the formation of the population and the labor market has been established. The opportunities of the Japanese society to overcome the demographic crisis in Japan in the context of the disclosure of the technological and financial potential of the country are determined. The role and risks of immigration in the demographic development of Japanese society are highlighted.
