Abstract
The article discusses the current activities of the Department «Philosophy, sociology and history» on the formation of strong humanitarian knowledge, spiritual culture of students in ROAT (Russian open Academy of Transport), a structural unit of the Russian University of Transport (MIIT). Various forms and methods of education of students and postgraduates necessary to them in modern conditions of the Russian society of spiritual qualities of high level are characterized. To this end, the author reveals a variety of creative activities of the teaching staff, conducted both within the Academy and in external communication links in Moscow.
