Energy Integration in Latin America and the Caribbean

This article deals with the development of a joint regional energy integration strategy for Latin America and the Caribbean. Its main goal is to strengthen the legitimate right of states to manage the vast natural energy resources that the region possesses, in order to improve the well-being of the nation. The states of Latin America and the Caribbean have developed directives and ways to promote energy integration, in order to reduce asymmetries, realize security of supply and diversification of the regional energy matrix from the resources available in the region, political coordination, creation of industrial development poles and large national energy enterprises, etc.
